Wish Architects excavated downwards to create a two storey home in a secluded location in London. We took an in-keeping approach whilst also creating a juxtaposition between the cold exterior and warm interior. The kitchen was designed to look as though it was born out of the land and the small footprint of the home inclined us to flip the layout, with the bedroom on the ground floor and the kitchen in the basement. We also created an enclosed garden space and included escape staircases designed in the same language as the façade. The final result is a home that is both aesthetically pleasing and practical for the client.

Wish Architects were approached by a family in Solihull who desired a contemporary and warm update to their living arrangements. One of their main requests was a large open-plan kitchen that would open up onto a pleasant garden. In addition, Wish Architects came up with an internal fitout scheme to create a dedicated home office space near the bedroom, meeting the family’s need for a convenient workspace within their home. The Wish Architects design solution aimed to create a functional and practical living space that also fostered a sense of harmony and balance within the home.
