Wish Architects were recently approached by a family in Solihull who were in need of a contemporary and warm update to their living space. One of the main desires for the family was to have a large open-plan arrangement for their kitchen, which would allow them to cook and socialize in a spacious and airy environment.
In order to achieve this, we designed a kitchen that would open up onto a wooden slat fenced garden, creating a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces. This design decision not only allows the family to enjoy the natural beauty of their garden but also gives them the feeling of being in the woods, surrounded by nature.
In addition to the open-plan kitchen, the family also had a specific need for a home office that would be conveniently located near their bedroom. We therefore designed an internal fitout that would create a separate office space within their home. This allows the family to have a dedicated workspace that is easily accessible yet still separate from the rest of the house.
