Planning Permission
Planning Permission is required by your Local Planning Authority (LPA) in order to allow your proposal to be assessed by the council. It is not always a requirement as some projects can commence without the need for planning permission. This is known as ‘Prior Approval’ and we can help with the drawings for that too (see our Prior Approval section for more information).
The Planning Application will comprise of a complete pack of Design Drawings, Block Plan Drawings and Site Drawings which are used by the council to assess the scheme based on the size of the proposal, its location and materials, its relative scale in comparison to the local surroundings and other important information which shows the viability of the scheme in its context.
Planning Applications usually take up to 13 weeks from initial submission to be assessed. During this time, Wish Architects will administer the application in liaison with your local council to ensure everything is being resolved as necessary. We will keep you informed throughout this time of any changes to the workload based on Planners’ comments and requests.
All additional work to your drawings during the Planning process (under the agreed scope of services) are included within the fixed price offered by Wish Architects for the work, so you can be rest assured there’ll be no nasty surprises when you appoint us as your Architects.
